Can I use Sprint Phones on Verizon Wireless?

There are some cool phones from Sprint that I like, but they are not available with Verizon. So can I use Sprint phone on Verizon? I mean buy the phone from Sprint then switch over to Verizon Wireless. No, not now. Even though Verizon and Sprint are both using the same type of wireless technology – CDMA, their phones are not compatible. Although both networks have promised to make unlocked phones available to the public in near future. This is not yet happening. So, if you see a cool phone you really love on Sprint, sorry, you can’t use it on Verizon Wireless. The real question is do you have to use Verizon if the phone is only available on Sprint. All networks now have roaming agreement with each other. Even there is no Sprint cellular towers around where you travel to, your phone will roam (borrow) via other cellular towers to make necessary voice and data connection so you will be always connected no matter where you go.
