By now you probably have read many reviews on iPhone 4S. The fact that iPhone 4S features an 8 megapixel camera make you wonder why do I need to carry another camera with? Should you replace my point-and-shoot digital camera with the new iPhone 4S so I can put one less item in my pocket or purse? I already gave up my camera since the iPhone 4 came with. Even with 5 megapixels, the iPhone 4 still take great pictures and 720p HD videos. Playback on iPad, Mac, or PC is just super clear. The only problem I had is when you actually print them out. Some pictures taken at night appear to be grainy. I don’t really know how many of you are planning to print them out and hang them on the wall. I usually show my friends pictures on iPad or simply share them to Facebook. With new 8 megapixel camera on iPhone 4S – the shutter is going to be much faster. The phone itself is much thinner than any point-and-shoot camera. The only drawback for some people is that there is no optical zoom, which I could care less. One big advantage of the iPhone 4S over regular digital camera is that it has a large screen and can record 1080p HD videos and edit them right on the spot. If I were you I will not only replace my digital camera but also get rid of the camcorder all together. Trust me, you will find yourself taking more photos and videos with the new phone. Yup, that’s a pretty good reason to upgrade to iPhone 4S, right?

Do you know that your new Sprint or Verizon iPhone 4S are already unlocked for GSM network? That means you can simply purchase a local sim card when travel oversea and save hundreds of dollars on the roaming fees. Sprint will sell iPhone 4S with micro-SIM slot unlocked. However, for Verizon Wireless customers you will have to wait 60 days to request “International unlock” provided that your account is good standing.

AT&T customers, sorry, your brand new iPhone 4S is not unlocked – you are still forced to pay AT&T’s roaming charges. So rather than paying for international roaming Sprint and Verizon iPhone 4S customers traveling internationally can take advantage of the new unlocked feature and get dramatically cheaper rate with a pre-paid micro-SIM card for data and voice calling. Apple store sells unlocked iPhone 4 for $649 while Verizon Wireless and Sprint offer iPhone 4S 16GB at $199. So price is huge advantage too. The only downside is that you will be using a local number instead of the one in the U.S. Make sure to let your family and friends know about the new number.

Despite some glitches AT&T Sold 200,000 iPhone 4S in the first 12 hours of preordering. While many Apple fans are still complaining about the lack of design change/improvement on the new iPhone 4S people are still flooding to Apple online store or carriers’ sites to scoop up the latest offering from Apple. The last year’s recording of 600,000 iPhone 4 was certainly set to broken. Carriers have sold out the iPhone 4S online at this point. But you can still find all models available at Apple store online. The estimated ship time now has been extended to 1 to 2 weeks. Same thing happened to iPad 2 preorder. If you are a few hours late to the preorder you might have to wait a week or 2 longer. Next time just be prepared – set your alarm at 12:01am Pacific Time! I wonder how many of you would be willing to preorder before they even had revealed the product. I know I would.

I don’t see any difference on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, at least on the exterior appearance. Should I upgrade from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S? Although some of us who already own iPhone 4 are disappointed not to see a new designed iPhone 5 this is year the iPhone 4S is actually a much more powerful smartphone than its predecessor. In fact, it can 7 times faster when it comes to running certain Apps. Some noticeable improvements are: dual core Apple A5 processor, support HSDPA 14.4 Mps download, 8.0 megapixel camera that’s capable of recording 1080p videos! Who need a separate digital camera or camcorder anymore? And it’s available on 3 major wireless carriers in the US – AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint. Prices don’t change. 16GB for $199.99 and 32GB for 299.99. Oh, one more thing, there is a 64GB version available for $399.99. These prices require you to sign a 2-year contract. Here is what you can do optimize your original iPhone investment. Sell your old iPhone 4 with excellent condition on eBay and you should be able to at least get $250 out of it. Then upgrade to iPhone 4S for $199.99. You actually make a little bit of money after some fees – that’s a reason a good enough to upgrade to the new iPhone 4S.

The next generation iPhone will be released later this month or in early October. One question that many of you might be ask is how much memory do I need for iPhone 5? we are expecting 2 capacities available – 16GB and 32 GB. Some of you are hoping to get 64GB. But I really doubt the 64GB version will be released this time. So how much memory is enough? First of all, when you see 16GB on the back of the iPhone, there is only 14GB available. The reason is that some memory are being using by the IOS and default Apps. So, there is only 14GB available for the user. Same goes for 32GB – you will only see 30GB available when checking the About in the phone setting. I have been using 16GB iPhone 4 for little over a year. For the first few months I didn’t have too many apps, pictures, and videos. Since I don’t download songs (use Pandora instead) I thought I would never use up the memory. That changed after just 6 months. I have over 200 songs, 300 photos, 90 video clips, and 100 apps. The photos and videos take up majority of the memory storage. The videos and pictures were taken with the 5mp camera. In case you haven’t heard, the iPhone 5 will have an 8 megapixel camera. So the quality will be better and will require more memory space. How many GB do I need on my iPhone 5? Definitely go for 32GB you plan to use it as a camera/camcorder! Otherwise, 16GB is good enough for thousands of apps and games.

What if you break your iPhone 4 and it’s out of warranty? One thing you can do is to buy a new one at retail price (ouch). That’s over $600 for a phone what you originally paid $200 for. Don’t you wish you had bought insurance for the iPhone 4? How much is insurance for iPhone 4 on AT&T? Current insurance plan for AT&T’s iPhone 4 costs $12 a month. You will end up paying $288 for the entire 2-year contract if nothing happens to your beautiful iPhone 4. Not quite good deal while non-iPhone users pay only $5 a month. Well, this is going to change on July 17th. All iPhones will be eligible for Asurion Mobile Insurance plans for a more reasonable $5/month. For iPhone 3GS users there are plenty of used 3GS for sale on eBay – so getting a protection plan for iPhone 3GS doesn’t make too much sense since you can buy it at a pretty cheap price. It’s still not clear how much the deductible will be. Given the fact that other smartphone replacement requires $125 charge for a replacement you should expect no less than that on an iPhone 4. One important requirement for those who want to insure their iPhone 4 – it’s only available within first 30 days of purchase. Make up your mind early.

Should I buy the upcoming iPhone 5 if it doesn’t have 4G? Apple has said that they didn’t want to comprise the design due to some limitations of the first generation LTE chips. Is Apple ready to place a 4G LTE chip inside the new iPhone 5? Not every carrier is quite ready to roll out the latest 4G network. Although Verizon has been aggressive on the deployment, other carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T are still trying to push out HSPA+. And we probably won’t see LTE until sometime in 2012 from GSM carriers. Should you still buy iPhone 5 without 4G support? All we know so far is that the next generation of iPhone will be a world phone, which can work with both AT&T’s GSM and Verizon’s CDMA network. Although it would be nice has 4G, I will still get a new iPhone every year even if it’s not 4G. Any hardware improvement, like better camera, larger screen, faster processor, and slimmer design is enough for me to pull the trigger. How much do you care? Feel free to speak out below.

iPhone 4 was release in July 2010 and HTC Inspire 4G was released in February 2011. They were born 7 months apart and share few similarities. Is HTC Inspire better than iPhone 4? First of all, the HTC Inspire run on AT&T’s 4G network and iPhone 4 is still in 3G mode – it will not be fair to compare web browsing speed even though they both have 1GHz processor inside. AT&T Inspire has a much larger screen 4.3 inch vs. iPhone’s 3.5 inch. However, iPhone 4 has better resolution thanks to its retina display capable of showing 960×640 pixels. Even with a bigger screen, the Inspire 4G can only display 480 x 800 pixels. The iPhone 4 design is incredible – it’s slim and both sides are made of scratch-free aluminosilicate glass panels. One thing that’s not as good as HTC Inspire is the camera. HTC has 8 megapixels on board while iPhone 4 has only 5 megapixels. It’s not a huge difference if you view pictures on the screen. They both look amazingly clear. When you print the pictures out, the 8 megapixel camera does have an upper hand. So, is HTC Inspire better than iPhone 4? I don’t think so. iPhone 4 is lighter and thinner. And best of all, the iPhones has so many more app than you can find in Android Market.

Don’t have an iPhone 4 yet because it’s too expensive? Many stores, including Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Wal-Mart, are authorized to sell iPhone 4 for AT&T and Verizon Wireless. But they all sell the iPhone 4 (16GB version) at 199.99 until now. Which store has the cheapest iPhone 4? It’s the largest retailer in the world – Wal-Mart is now selling the iPhone 4 at the cheapest price you can find in stores. Only $147. Of course, the standard 2-year contract is required from AT&T or Verizon. This promotion is good through June 30. And I am sure everyone will flock to the store after they find out this news. Discounts are very rare on iPhones. The last time Radio Shack slashed the price by $50 every store was sold out within hours. If the history repeats itself, you should be checking your local Wal-Mart store now and scoop up any available stock as soon they have it. We know that iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S won’t come out until sometime in September. And there won’t be a major upgrade in terms of hardware. Expect the same transition like from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3GS.

Everyone wants an iPhone but not everyone is willing to shell out $200 for a brand new iPhone 4. Want to upgrade to a new iPhone for cheap? What about $50 for a new iPhone 3GS? In fact, at this price point, it’s cheaper than the iPod Shuffle. Other so-called full-featured phones actually cost more than the iPhone 3GS, let alone those expensive Android smartphones. Although iPhone 3GS was introduced in summer of 2009 and there has been tons of new Android devices from Samsung and LG flooding the smartphone market, it continues to outsell Android phones this year. Why can Apple still do that after nearly 2 year release? Simple – people just want a budget smartphone. They want to pay little or nothing upfront and still want features like web browsing, email, text messaging, and tons of Apps. iPhone 3GS is exactly the product for consumers in today’s economic environment. It’s cheaper to make since it uses less powerful chips and non-HD camera lens. And by the time Apple introduces iPhone 5 you can expect the iPhone 4 to go on sale for $100 or less so you can upgrade to iPhone 4 for cheap.
