Folks, the one time most popular Motorola RAZR is back. Wait? Another Moto flip phone? No way. It’s not a flip phone or full-featured phone. It’s called DROID RAZR – the thinnest smartphone in the world. Measured only 7.1 mm, this is the skinniest Android phone in the market today. Powered by 1.2GHz dual core processor, the new Moto RAZR has an 8 megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage expendable to 32 GB with a external microSD card. What’s interesting about this new Moto RAZR is the SmartAction software that helps manage your phone’s battery life. You change settings to shut off Bluetooth when you return home or slow down the processor speed while you are on the phone. The iPhone has iCloud so does the Moto DROID RAZR. Motorola introduced something called MotoCast – a personal cloud feature/app that lets you stream or download your music, pictures and more from your PC to your phone. The world’s thinnest smartphone is available for preorder on October 27th begin to ship in early November for $299.99 with a 2-year Verizon Wireless contract. So get your credit card ready. Don’t forget to pair it up with lapdocks, wireless keyboard, HD docks and Bluetooth headsets.

Can you believe that DROID X has been in the market for almost a year? Time for an upgrade. The DROID X2 will be officially for sale on May 26th at Verizon Wireless store. Since it’s the second generation of the Android smartphone you can expect a more powerful processor and high resolution touchscreen. Indeed the DROID X2 is packed with a dual-core 1GHz processor and the screen has been upgraded to qHD 960X540 pixels vs. 800×480 on all other smartphones with 4.3 inch screen. What we love about this phone is that it’s fast and solid for both personal and business use. And what we are most disappointed about is the lack of front facing camera and no LTE 4G support. Everything else is just better or as good as the old model. In case you can’t wait, just like most of us, you can preorder on May 19th and receive it on the launch date. Oh, the sale price is $199.99 with a 2-year agreement. Adding it to an existing family plan might cost a bit more upfront. But hey, you actually save money using the same carrier without having to open a new individual account.

Motorola XPRT will go on sale at Sprint stores on June 5th. The XPRT is basically a rebranded DROID PRO from Verizon Wireless. There is always a good reason to name the same device differently, let’s not get into the naming issue here. All I wish is that the same phone can be made available on any wireless network. The sale price for Sprint XPRT will be $129.99 with a 2-year contract. Compared to $179.99 at Verizonwireless.com, you can save $50 at Sprint. Not bad deal at all if you are willing to take a phone that was actually released 7 months ago. The real bargain is that Sprint’s new Data plan starts at just $69.99 + $10 data premium and covers unlimited mobile calling, web, texting, GPS, and Sprint TV. The moto XPRT is a world phone too, you use in over 200 countries with international roaming service.

Sprint will officially launch the Wi-Fi version of Motorola XOOM on May 8th for $599.99, same price as the 32GB iPad 2 from Apple. If you have been waiting for the first really Tablet powered by Android then the XOOM is your ultimate choice (probably the only good choice) now. Consider the Motorola XOOM has been available through Staples, Radio Shack, Costco, and Walmart, Sprint stores are just another convenient place to shop for the Wi-Fi only XOOM. You can also shop for Moto XOOM on sprint.com, Telesales, and Sprint Business Sales. The only advantage of XOOM over the iPad is the ability of play videos using Adobe Flash Player. But as more web sites adopt the HTML5 standard I don’t see any reasons to pay more for the XOOM when you can get the iPad 2 for only $499 unless you want to opt for the 4G WiMax version this summer. Data plans for Motorola XOOM starts at just $20 at Verizon Wireless, we expect similar plans being offered by Sprint.

Folks if you have been waiting for another 4G LTE from Verizon Wireless will be disappointed to hear this – the DROID Bionic will not be available until summer 2011. The device was first introduced in CES in January and has gained a lot of buzz in the industry. The specs are impressive – a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 4.3-inch HD screen great for watching movies on the go. The front-facing VGA camera and an 8-megapixel camera are great for video calling and taking sharp pictures. Motorola said that DROID Bionic needed some enhancements to make the experience better for consumers. According to a Reuters report they might be tweaking the form factor a little bit. Whatever the reason is now the only 4G LTE device available from Verizon is HTC Thunderbolt. It’s not a bad choice at all since is selling as hot as the CDMA iPhone 4.

The newly released Motorola XOOM on your hand, you might want to consider getting a data plan to take full advantage of the true mobility. How much is data plan for Motorola XOOM though? It will cost you $50 a month for 5GB of data usage. In my opinion, that’s plenty if you don’t stream YouTube everyday. Still, it’s quite expensive when compared to best iPad data plan available today. Unlike the iPad, which offers you 2-tired plan, XOOM doesn’t offer anything lower than 5GB for a cheaper price. you don’t have another option to buy lowered tiered plan if you are only using a fraction of the 5GB every month. The only good thing is that data plan is not required for Motorola XOOM, although you can save $200 on the device you are willing to commit to a 2-year contract. I strongly suggest hold off signing up a plan. $200 is not a lot of discount if you have to keep paying $50 a month for the next 24 months – that will add up to $1200 whether you use the device or not. Buy it without data plan or wait for introduction of a lower priced data plan available in the next couple of months.

Update: various plans are being offered from $20 to $80 a month. The $20 plan gives you 1GB data while $35 one has 3GB…still a bit more expensive than at&t’s ipad plan. However veriozn offers more data usage.

Why should you switch to Droid from iPhone? Being in love with iPhone 3GS for almost a year now. I love and hate the iPhone at the same time. Love the design, easy of use, and tons of free apps and cheap apps. Hate dropped calls, hate the spotty 3G network. Downloading and uploading on AT&T’s network is fast as long as you have good reception. You can surely find a reliable spot and your iPhone has always had good connection and no dropped calls there. But what good is a mobile phone if you can take it anywhere you go?

Ever since the Droid came out, I have been wondering should I switch from iPhone to Verizon Droid? Am I going to get the same benefits as the iPhone without the annoying dropped calls? Verizon Droid is by far the best Android phone from Google and one of the only 2 Android phones (the other one is Droid Eris) available on Verizon Wireless. Being the first real challenger to the iPhone, Droid does have many advantages – physical full QWERTY keyboard, integrated Google services like Map, GMail, Calendar, Google Talk, and more. What make the Droid more attractive to me than the iPhone are the larger and more reliable 3G network from Verizon Wireless.

Droid is the only smartphone that’s worth competing with the iPhone. If I were you, I would switch from iPhone to Droid right now.
