Want to switch from Verizon to AT&T because of a new phone not available in Verizon Wireless? Or simply want to try out a different network and service? For whatever reasons you have, switching from Verizon to AT&T is easy and you can keep the same mobile number. Before you tell you how to transfer a number to a new carrier, one very important thing to keep in mind is that do NOT cancel the service with Verizon Wireless before signing up a new plan with AT&T. Start with selecting a phone at AT&T online or retail store. Then you will have an option (online or through sales rep) to switch your current wireless number to the new headset. You might also need to provide a pin number for current carrier so that they can verify that the current user indeed initiate the transfer. That’s all you need to do. In most cases, it takes just a few minutes to port the number to the new phone. However, it can sometimes take up to 24 hours. I have switch carriers in the past 5 years and the process is simple requires no extra work on your side. Good luck.
