Most of the wireless phones today have antenna hidden inside the phone (at least inside the shell). Are cell phones with external antenna better than those with internal antenna? I remember in the early days of cellular phones you can pull the antenna out and extend it to make reception better. As antenna technology evolves, the signals can be transmitted through the phone materials such as metal and plastic. However, when touched by human hand or connected with other types of materials, reception signals can be weakened. I sure you have heard the iPhone 4 antenna issue already. So depending how the phone is built, it’s better to isolate the antenna. In my opinion, a cell phone with external antenna is better than one without. What do you think?
