The original iPhone 4 design is incredibly pleasing. IMHO there is really nothing on the exterior need to be changed at this time. A faster iPhone with 8 megapixel camera is good enough for me to upgrade for now. Besides, Sprint plans are cheaper than those from AT&T and Sprint. free GPS navigation is already included in the rate plan. Like every new iPhone release, the demand is extremely high so set your alarm at 12:01am Pacific Time to be one the first to pre-order online and enjoy unlimited data on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
I don’t see any difference on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, at least on the exterior appearance. Should I upgrade from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S? Although some of us who already own iPhone 4 are disappointed not to see a new designed iPhone 5 this is year the iPhone 4S is actually a much more powerful smartphone than its predecessor. In fact, it can 7 times faster when it comes to running certain Apps. Some noticeable improvements are: dual core Apple A5 processor, support HSDPA 14.4 Mps download, 8.0 megapixel camera that’s capable of recording 1080p videos! Who need a separate digital camera or camcorder anymore? And it’s available on 3 major wireless carriers in the US – AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint. Prices don’t change. 16GB for $199.99 and 32GB for 299.99. Oh, one more thing, there is a 64GB version available for $399.99. These prices require you to sign a 2-year contract. Then upgrade to iPhone 4S for $199.99. You actually make a little bit of money after some fees – that’s a reason a good enough to upgrade to the new iPhone 4S.

The new LG Esteem is the most powerful 4G LTE yet from Metro PCS. It’s on sale today for only $249. All the specs are pretty much the same as LG Revolution from Verizon Wireless – 1GHz Snapdragon Processor, Android 2.3, amazing 4.3 inch display, thousands of free apps and games from Android Market. Most importantly the LG Esteem is 4GLTE capable. That means you will be able to get super fast download/upload. This device truly offers unparalleled Internet and entertainment consumer experience. There are a wide variety of features not previously accessible to prepaid customers and now you can pretty much get it all. However, unlike the LG Revolution, MiFi hotspot is not supported on Metro PCS. Hey, that’s going to stop many of no-annual-contract consumers from getting one. Given the impressive hardware specs and the cheap $50 and $60 4G LTE plans I doubt you will need it at all. Trust me, $50 is a real bargain vs. a similar rate plan from Verizon Wireless. Plus there is no contract to sign. Now through January 1, 2012 the LG Esteem is on sale for $249 after mail-in rebate.

Should you get AT&T Global Messaging Plans when traveling abroad? Now you have 2 more choices when it comes to International texting. The AT&T Global Messaging plans are adding Global Messaging 200 for $30/month and Global Messaging 500 for $50 a month. If you are only taking a short trip oversea you can still buy the 50 SMS/MMS messages for $10. Although we wish there are cheaper options these are much better than paying $.50 per regular message $1.30 per multimedia message without the plan. If you go over the package limit each additional text message will only cost you $.15. I know many of you can burn through 200 in just a few days or even hours it’s still a better option while other carriers offer texting rate from $0.25 to $.50. You should get the Global Messaging plan from AT&T if you think you will send or receive more than just a few messages. The best deal option is 200 texts for $30 unless you are pretty sure you will go over that limit.
AT&T will start offering a new GoPhone plan on Sept. 18 for prepaid customers. You will also get the option of an international long distance package. The national GoPhone plan will cost $25 a month and include 240 nationwide voice minutes and unlimited, nationwide messaging. Sounds like a good deal to me since the unlimited texting itself costs $20. Basically you are buying 240 minutes for just $5. It comes down to just over 2 pennies a minute. If you want the international feature it will cost you $10 and include 250 minutes to over 50 countries for 30 days. Not a bad deal at all. The new AT&T GoPhone plans actually offer more bang for your buck. Although you can still find some goodies like HTC Freestyle is there are limited phone selections and definitely no iPhone prepaid plan. What if prepaid customers want unlimited everything? The existing unlimited prepaid is still available at this time and costs only $50. Please note that smartphone users are required to get a data package – $5 for 10 MB, $15 for 100 MB, $25 for 500 MB. Is the new AT&T prepaid plan better? We will find out soon.
If you want to use have Internet connection on your laptop all the time you have 2 choices: One way is to buy a wireless broadband USB card or MiFi personal mobile hotspot device; another way is that you can tether your smartphone and share 3G/4G connection with up to 8 Wi-Fi devices. Some of you might already know by experience that carriers are blocking free tethering. You will have to pay a monthly for this added feature. But what is the cheapest tethering plan for Verizon Wireless? All Verizon smartphones, whether they 3G or 4G, require a 2GB Data Pak at $30 a month. That’s on top of a regular voice plan. To add tethering features, you will to pay for 4GB Data Pak Plus Mobile Hotspot for $50 a month. So the cheapest Verizon tethering plan you can get is $50. With a cheapest voice plan at $39.99, expect to pay at least $89.99 a month for the privilege of sharing wireless connection with 8 devices instantly. If you already own a smartphone, the true additional cost is only $20. You are not required to keep the data tethering feature. Simply add or remove on a month by month basis.
