Why do People like Touch Screen Phones

I wasn’t a big fan of touch screen cell phones until the introduction of the iPhone from Apple. I didn’t understand why people would put the screen on their face when talking and leave all the grease on the screen. Well, even you don’t put the screen close to the face, you the screen can still catch grease and sweat just from your fingers’ touch. But I gradually understand that the phones today, especially smartphones or full-featured phones are not what we used to use them for. Now, people use them not just for making phone calls, they use them for web, emails, pictures, videos, and all sorts of entertainment. And touch screen phones are better suited for these functions with increased screen estate. That’s why do People like touch screen phones so much.

Do you have to use touch screen phones to take advantages of latest mobile technology has to offer? Not really, although it would be nice, you don’t have to. I am not a big fan of touch screen phones. It’s frustrating to work with, and I can’t look at what I’m typing without having to glance at the letters. For pure fun/entertainment purposes, a touch-screen phone is ideal. That’s one reason why I want an ipod touch vs an iphone. But for writing emails, doing business, or simply texting my friends, it’s not something I’m going to give up the physical feel of a keyboard for. As a last resort, if the touch-screen breaks, the phone won’t function anymore. With a regular phone, on the other hand, you will still be able to dial 911 if your screen breaks. I’d rather have that.
